Healthy Kids Concepts: Nutrition standards for packaged food products

General Guidelines

General guidelines for all foods:

  • No trans fats (no "partially hydrogenated oils" in the ingredients)
  • No high intensity sweeteners (Sucralose, aspartame, stevia, etc.)

Dairy

Yogurt, Plan, Low-Fat or Non Fat

(per 6 ounces)
  • No synthetic growth hormones or antibiotics used
  • 100 calories or less
  • No more than 12 grams of sugar
  • Contains at least 30 percent of the RDA for calcium

Yogurt, flavored/fruit, low-fat or non-fat

(per 6 ounces)
  • 130 calories or less
  • No more than 25 grams sugar
  • Contains at least 25 percent of the RDA for calcium

Cheese
